Benjamin Kennard, aged 22, found guilty on an indictment for stealing in the dwelling house of Henry Cole in the parish of Littlehampton on  8th December 1784: stealing therefrom 2 quilted stuff petticoats (valued at 20/-), 11 pairs of cotton stockings (valued at 40/-), one odd cotton stocking (valued at 2/-), a pair of worsted stockings (valued at 3/-), 2 cotton handkerchiefs (valued at 3/-), 6 muslin handkerchiefs (valued at 30/-), a velveret waistcoat (valued at 10/-), 6 yards of printed cotton (valued at 18/-),2 pairs of linen trousers (valued at 10/-), a check linen shirt (valued at 6/-), a pair of silver shoe buckles (valued at 8/-), 2 odd metal buckles plated with silver (valued at 6d), a gold ring (valued at 5/-),  a wooden box (valued at 1d  and £4.5/- in money numbered.
